The Institute of Primate Research (IPR) is a biomedical research centre that was established in 1960 by Louis Leakey. It’s an institution of the National Museums of Kenya. IPR is in Nairobi, Kenya; located in the 400 acres Oloolua Natural forest near Karen. IPR is the first organization in Africa to receive AAALAC (Association of Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care) international accreditation.
